HAPPY Spring Fling Blog Hop day 3~ CSDIVAS

Welcome to day 3 of our fabulous Spring Fling Blog Hop for Creative Scrapbooking Divas. This Hop has been such fun.. I hope you have had the opportunity to participate and comment each day.

I have a fun card to share with you today.. I love taking time to create cards for special people in my life not just special events. I create cards to express my love and gratitude for friendship.

Have you ever had a day where life seems to be so over whelming and any small act of kindness can really cheer you? Each of us have that opportunity to channel our creative diva and send a personal greeting just because..

I created the following card to send to a friend just because... There doesn't have to be a reason to send love and cheer..

The card is done on Kraft cardstock that looked a little plain after adding my flower and sentiment elements so I took a distress ink pad and did a pad to paper effect so as to purposely make the card look like I painted the edges roughly. I felt it added to the cards overall flair..

Hello friends, I hope you have been enjoying the fabulous projects throughout the hop.. I've been inspired to mix religous versus on my cards for Spring.. The season brings us Easter and my faith is strong all year round so I've designed a card that's simple and elegant..

Using Spellbinders Label 18 and The Craft's Meow label stamp set, I created the base sentiment for my card. The label has a small floral design is I believe its elegance is a perfect match fot my sentiment from Verve Stamps. The curvy cross stamp and matching die is also from Verve..

to finish up the cards edges try sponging a like color around the edges..

Spring Fling Blog Hop 2012 ~ CSDIVAS

Welcome to our first Hop of 2012 for Creative Scrapbooking Divas.. Our Spring Fling Hop brings ideas of flowers and faith for Easter is coming. I'm so excited to share a great product I've just discovered.. Have you all heard of Flower Soft? It is a fiber type product used to add dimension to various flower projects.
This product is so great.. To apply to your card use the glue available and dot the areas you'd like covered and with the use of a small bowl pour all flower soft inside and fluff with your fingers to seperate the fibers. Once you are ready to add the flower soft hold your project over the bowl and sprinkle away.. You should tap excess off into the bowl.. and just like that you get fantastic 3D results..

I hope you can see the fabulous colors and realistic look of the fibers on my large flower.. I found the verse stamp through Verve Stamping and I love the versitility it provides.. I keep a few cards handy in case I have a special person to cheer.

Sponging using Distress Inks.. by Tim Holtz

Hello Friends,

I had a blast at the Anaheim Scrapbook Expo yesterday and took some time today to Kreate and play with my newest Stamp set by Unity Stamp Co. www.unitystampco.com



This is an awesome set.. It just screams vintage to me.. I used 2 Distress Inks on dabbers to create the base card shading and the shading in my circle die and sentiment. I then used 2 inks on the flowers inside the embossed Black bird.. I hope you can see the shimmer in the bird..

I am having many ideas flow to mind for this set.. The Distress inks just may become a new favorite..

Scrapbook Expo Anaheim, CA 2012

Today was a fantastic day... I spent the day with friends at the Scrapbook Expo in Anaheim, CA.. It was a fantastic display of several companies offering great prices and specials for their products.. I must say I bought a little more than I thought and only stuck to my wish list in one booth.. Everything else were impulse buys and I LOVE THEM...

I bought the most adorable die and stamp set from Lil' Inker Designs and made the cutest Anniversary and Valentine cards. I have so many heart dies and framelits but as I opened my mail yesterday I had ideas flowing....

Here is my love Paul's Valentine card, I did see this card idea on Lil' Inkers shop site so I tried recreating it.

I love the way it turned out.. I'm in love with Kraft cardstock and pinks and reds...

Here's the card made for our 18mo Anniversary next week..

I left enough room to write short reasons why I love him... and of course since I made the card a 5x7 I needed to make my own envelope from a homemade template..

Alzheimer's is a Horrible disease... Help me in the FIGHT!

Hello Friends,
I am very passionate about Alzheimer's Disease. My father suffers and just on Saturday we experienced the scariest thing.. It was 11am and I walked passes my parents bedroom and saw the room empty. I walked to our family room and saw my mom taking a nap sitting up on the couch. I asked, Mom where is Dad? and she said, oh he's sleeping. I informed her he wasn't in the room. (sidebar- my dad gets very confused and disoriented and doesn't like walking around) I searched every room in our house and panic set in. My dad was gone.. I ran into the living room and saw the door closed but unlocked. In my jammies, I ran outside and started yelling dad... nothing... Paul in the mean time got our keys and started driving around the neighborhood. I drove around too and my mom stood home.. We searched everywhere and stopped anyone walking to ask if they've seen my dad.. Finally after what seemed like hours, I came upon a black truck and pulled up aside him.. I started to ask about seeing my dad and the man moved back and there was my dad sitting next to him..
You don't know how happy I was...
My dad had wandered 4 blocks away in his pjs, no shoes and was found by this very kind man. The man had driven him around for approx 35 min before I found them.  My dad couldn't tell the man his name nor did he know how to find our home... If you have a family member or friend with Alzheimer's you know how incredibly scary and sad this disease is..  I see my father suffering and over the past year he has had so many additional medical conditions. I need to be his voice.. I have started a team and we accomplished out first fundraising walk last Oct.

Scrapbooking day...

Hello Friends,
I'm having such an accomplished day.. I have been scrapbooking and trying to finish up my 2011 book.. I had stalled thinking I needed to find the perfect DIGI hot dog to complete my PINK'S Hot Dog page.. I finally looked in my WORD programs clip art and found one that I printed on both red and kraft paper. I then paper pieced it and used chalk to darked the colors and make the Hot dog more authentic. I used Sizzix dies for the PINKS and printed a 1940's pic of the hot dog stand..
